Having sung in a choir for a long time, I think that
music is an aid to memory.  Think of the "ABC Song," 
Tanny's wonderful CD, or those irritating ads
(ditties) that take up space in your brain.  I know
the latter have crept into my head uninvited.  I think
this is especially so for folks who have a strong
musical MI (multiple intelligence); they just can't
help remembering something that is set to a tune....a
definite plus for those learnings where automaticity
is a goal.  I don't know whether there are studies to
support this but it's an interesting
observation/problem.  Judy
