Hi Jennifer, At Tim's suggestion on this listserv, I took out all the Bruce Lansky books that the libraries in my city had on their shelves. My grade one's loved all of the books. I think I brought in 5 or 6 books. They especially loved Stinky, Stinky Diaper Change as some of them have younger siblings. They loved this poem so much that I had to make copies of for them to take home. Elisa Waingort Calgary, Canada Ginger Tim (and I hope he'll excuse me, for jumping in here) can probably tell you more about this...but I heard him advise teachers to have the kids write new lyrics for known tunes! I have gone on to do so and the kids LOVE it. You can give the kids examples of what to do by using the book "Take Me Out of the Bathtub." If you haven't found it yet...you are missing a treasure! The title song is to the tune of Take Me out to the Ballgame....one of my favorites is "Stinky, Stinky Diaper Change..." that goes to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
