I don't think we can simplify this discussion to a list of words.  One size
cannot fit all.  I think it is a matter of deeply knowing your students,
thinking through each lesson designed with the question, "What language must
the child understand to fully benefit from this experience?"  It is
thoughtful decision making when deciding what vocabulary to plant, careful
kid--watching for signs that kids are perplexed by language and I firmly
believe it involves the use of rich language in all classroom situations.
