I appreciate what you are saying and agree with you about assessing and
giving students what they need based on the assessment. I am not planning on
doing scripted materials and running my program based on the day of the week
and what the program wants me to do. Unfortunately, I do not have the
resources that have been mentioned in other emails. I am in a school
district that is a total of one school with 280 students PreK-12. There was
no program the reading teacher did before me, which was two years ago. I
have over 50 students and 13 different groups I service on a daily basis.
With no resources and not enough plan time I need something now!!!!!! I am
currently doing 6 Minute Fluency, Words There Way, using DIBELS lesson ideas
and have begun getting information from the Florida Center of Reading
Research. I also use our state standards and our state's literacy plan. I
have started a leveled reading library for the district (they did not have
one before) and also use those books to teach from, taking phonic, vocab and
comprehension lessons from them. My students and I also write class books.
I believe I am very much doing my lessons and planning based on my student's
particular needs. I just need another resource, "program" to help me so I
can spend time teaching.

I thank you for your replies and your time.

Would you be able to share what you compiled? What state are you in?
