Gina I love Sandra Cisneros she has some awesome collections, vignettes
really, in *The House on Mango Street*, and *The Women of Hollering Creek
and Other Stories* her website is great go check it out
http://www.sandracisneros.com. Some are a little provocative but there are
some that get to the heart of emotions *Eleven *and *Papa Who Wakes Up
Tired in the Dark.* Gary Santos has a collection of stories as well
Something about Summer and Baseball. I don't have that one here at home but
I first learned about their work from the Lucy Calkins books and attending
the Writing Workshop at Columbia. These might help.
What a challenge and rewarding endeavor. Good luck.
