I love reading The Velveteen Rabbit with the students. It is a great book for
discussion and again for writing. They can bring in their favorite stuffed
animal to share. From there you may incorporate various writing activities
such as a descriptive paragraph, poetry etc.

Does anyone have any good lessons/activities to use the week before winter
break? We're finishing up a unit soon and it'd be nice to have something
light and timely for the few days before break begins.
