I, also, do not agree with the idea of teachers not completing education classes, because teaching is not all content. In fact, I would say teaching is less about content and more about understanding and relationship.
I must disagree with this. I think we need to celebrate and mentor anyone who is willing to work in those oh so difficult places. My two daughters both went into education on provisional certificates. They had to take education classes but began teaching, both in bilingual classrooms. They are both successful and effective bilingual teachers who have given much back to their perspective districts. If those provisional certificates hadn't been available to them, the profession would have lost two dedicated and caring teachers who were not in it for their resume or to enhance their career path.
