At the risk of confusing the issue -- could I just ask some people to suggest what kind of time they allot to actual spelling learning (intro, practise, 'sorts', etc.)? I know sometimes people argue that we should be spending much more time in "real reading and real writing" so while 'word study' is clearly a crucial part of the whole program, I am curious about time allotments. Of course, different at various grades, and some classes needing more and so on.
