I am behind in my reading because my book did not come so I ended up having to order it again. But I love the cartoon on p. 7, also. Love the first grade teachers who are wanting their students to be so independent yet have to make calls home during the day to wake their college age children to make sure they make it to their summer jobs. On another note, just thinking about the language I use and how much more useful it could be. An example came up tonight. 3 year old granddaughter goes to daycare with her 18 month old brother. In simply trying to make conversation with her, I asked "Is Elliot a good boy at daycare?" She didn't even know how to answer me until her mom quickly clarified for her, "Does Elliot make good choices at daycare?" to which she responded, "yes". Oops.
