I was out guiding John Berner of Texas today:

Highlights:

Great Gray Owl 2.5 miles north of the Sax Rd. (CR 28) on the McDavitt Rd. in
St. Louis County "Sax-Zim Bog" This owl has been seen pretty regularly in last
few weeks.

Northern Hawk Owl .1 mile south of the Sax Rd. (CR 28) on the Stickney Rd. on
the east side on a large spruce tree. ** Like Kim Eckert mentioned in his
latest post that the blue house and the red shed with all the white spray
painting warnings to trespassers are to be taken serious! The house is about
.5 miles south of intersection of CR 28 and Stickney Rd. If any issues arise
from him with birders please call the St. Louis County Sheriff Dept. and inform
the officers of any bad situation.

Boreal Chickadee (2) are easily seen at the feeding station on the Admiral Rd.
The feeder is 4.0 miles north of the Sax Rd (CR 28) on the east side. Gray
Jays and redpolls are coming to the feeder too.

Sharp-tailed Grouse (3) 1 mile south of the Sax Rd on CR 7. We observed the
grouse for a few seconds before they flush off the RR tracks

Glaucous Gull (Thanks to Peder S.) A 2nd cycle Glaucous Gull was loafing around
with some Herring Gull behind the WLSSD treatment building off 27th Ave. W and
I-35. There is some open water behind the plant where the gulls congregate.

Other Birds:
-Evening Grosbeaks, Pine Grosbeaks, Northern Shrike and some fly over
White-winged Crossbills.
