mozilla.org uses CVS to write and maintain documentation. <http://www.mozilla.org/README-cvs.html> People can help out with documentation by finding existing documents that need udating, polish or other clean-up or by writing new documentation about an area of the project that appeals. Most help is needed in documenting the Mozilla code itself. > > Since most of the pages at Mozilla.org are aimed at technology > professionals ( or people who already are familiar with Mozilla), I > feel there is a need for another website, which could provide a > gentler introduction to Mozilla without having to use words such as > "binaries", "horked", "xpcom", or "branch-build." Sounds like NewZilla <http://www.gerbilbox.com/newzilla/> or Mozillazine <http://mozillazine.org/>. > > I am thinking about creating a Tips and Tricks page for Mozilla, > which will be aimed at the average computer/Internet user, and not > necessarily at people who are already very familiar with Mozilla. If you're interested in writing those then look around <http://mozilla.org/docs/end-user/>, see what's there and what's missing and write something that's missing. > > Any thoughts or comments? We can definitely use the help. Right now getting involved takes some persistance since we don't have this area well (or at all) coordinated. If you write a doc or make edits to an existing doc, developer or user (or web developer) post it here and cc: me and I'll help you to get it published in the most appropriate forum. Thanks for taking the time to get more involved. --Asa
