I've been looking for a way to help with the Mozilla documentation. I have been a tech writer (though I haven't done too much software doc) and I know Perl pretty well. Please let me know here or at

margaret -at- oddpost . com

if I can help.

cheers,
Margaret

Yes, it would be the best solution. Even more, if people at mozilla.org is using any specific tool to manage the HTML -> XHTML conversion, it would be fine if they told us which and how, in order for us to follow the same process in the translated help files.

Regards.

I am responsible for the HTML->XHTML conversion, and I used TidyGUI (http://perso.wanadoo.fr/ablavier/TidyGUI) and I manually went through and updated the anchors.

I apologize for all the work I'm probably putting you guys through. It is beneficial though. The mail help docs (when I converted them) were about a third smaller than before. The new system is also easier for working with anchors in previous docs, too.

I'm hoping to get a Perl script working that will fix all of the anchors correctly, but I don't know much Perl so it'll be slow :(.
