In one of MicroSoft's own discussion groups, this problem was 
brought up more than any other three to one.  MS's response, 
from the head of Outlook developement, was "We aren't working 
on this, it doesn't bother us."

Most Outlook Express users are surprised to find that they can 
use other mail/news clients.  As OE came with their system, they 
thought that was what they had to use - just the way MicroSoft 
intended.
