This issue was "fixed" a month or two ago, despite my protests. It break
convention with other standard browsers, and it removes ease of use
without offering an equivalently easy replacement. I keep hearing, well
just press Alt-suchandsuch. That's twice as many keys, requiring
considerably more effort.

It gets pooh-poohed because it's an "unimportant" task. Certainly no
glory earned here. However, it's the

*single most used feature of any browser*.

Requiring users to exert more than twice as much effort for the most
commonly used feature is not a good idea. Find me a single button that
doesn't cause the "confusion" we're so worried about. I'll support that.

I mean, when you take this argument to its logical end, why have a
toolbar for navigation buttons at all? After all, equivalent
functionality can be had by just choosing the appropriate selection in
the "Go" menu, right?

If this isn't going to be fixed in the general release, can somebody at
least instruct me how to map a single key to the "back" function? I had
kept the previous .jar files for that feature for a while, until mozilla
changed the format for its xul (or whatever) a month or so ago. Since
then, I've been unable to figure it out.
