the specifications are the same as the specs for whatever image type you
choose to use, ie png, gif, jpg , ico, but Mozilla is the only browser
right now that supports non-ico image types, and you have to use the
<link rel="icon" href="..." type="..."> syntax when the image is not
"/favicon.ico".
