i managed to register a folder listener with the mail service and get all
kinds of cool notifications. and best of all its possible to do it all from
javascript. thanks for your reply though. im modifying the mail client to
have a little window that displays an html page notfying you when you get
new mail. clicking on the link in the html page will take you to mailnews
and _maybe_ automatically select the last new message.
