I didn't say it was. I was giving a reason as to why the habit sticks
around. Quoting all replies including the original post makes it easier
to follow a help-thread in chronological order and also makes it easier
for those readers that MARK AS READ and then return to the thread later on.

You know my address, we've exchanged email a few times in the past. So
does most of NS Engineers at Mountain View. "Well known" enough. I have
no problem sharing my address with those that have a real need to know.
I will not, however, share it 'cart blanche' with the rest of the world
in my header info.

I know how to deal with spam. I run a server farm with over 18,000
users. I don't need more email than I already get on a daily basis. I
get less than 1/2 dozen spams weekly and I intend to keep it that way.

I find it rather amazing how some of you are very argumentative and
critical of those that lend a hand here.
