Great answer Ben .. I just counted November's posted replies = 1853 to date. > (Note that this is also a mailing list.) I know what this is. >> it's just become habit as we request non-snipping and full >> quoting in the tech support groups. >> > I fail to understand why. Anyways, this is not the Netscape tech support > group. I didn't say it was. I was giving a reason as to why the habit sticks around. Quoting all replies including the original post makes it easier to follow a help-thread in chronological order and also makes it easier for those readers that MARK AS READ and then return to the thread later on. >> My REAL mail address is quite well known >> > Obviously not. You know my address, we've exchanged email a few times in the past. So does most of NS Engineers at Mountain View. "Well known" enough. I have no problem sharing my address with those that have a real need to know. I will not, however, share it 'cart blanche' with the rest of the world in my header info. >> I get enough spam as it is. >> > There are ways to deal with it. See my address as example. > I know how to deal with spam. I run a server farm with over 18,000 users. I don't need more email than I already get on a daily basis. I get less than 1/2 dozen spams weekly and I intend to keep it that way. I find it rather amazing how some of you are very argumentative and critical of those that lend a hand here. -- Jay Garcia - Netscape Champion Novell MCNE-5/CNI-Networking Technologies-OSI UFAQ - http://www.UFAQ.org
