Thanks, Neil. I tried that, but it didn't work. I tried wiping 
everything, and doing a fresh install. I also noticed that the test 
folder was showing up in NS4.79. So, here's how I fixed the problem:

I created a subfolder within test/, using NS4.79. Then I deleted it and 
test/. That worked!

It seems as thought NS/Mozilla and my IMAP server were sharing some kind 
of secret about this ghost folder. It's odd that it affected no other 
e-mail client.
