I've got similar problems. At work I use nightlies and with nightlies from the last 5 days or so, when I start Mozilla I don't get the mail server (POP3) password dialgoue so when I try to retrieve messages I just get an error that the server refused the connection. I tried creating a new user profile but that didn't work either. Currently I have to use build 2002-02-15-03 (W2K) as all the later nightlies have the problem. At home I build Mozilla from source and don't have any problems. My current build is only 24 hours old. If you find a solution to the problem I'd appreiciate it if you post it here.
