They haven't made things easy, have they?

The next easiest way that occurs to me is to backup the present Mozilla, delete
the Web Browser, install Mozilla anew, letting it derive its profile from the
Netscape 4.61, which it knows how to do, and update the bookmarks file with the
few changes I have made.

I don't think the developers spend much time or effort thinking about a
user's-eye view of the program. The current problem is a very good example, and
your observation that Mozilla can't be updated by installing new versions over
old ones supplies whatever emphasis was needed.

Many thanks for saving me from a very frustrating error.
