The GPL can suck. It makes it hard to use crypto code (for example).
But copyright, hell, I just read a cyberpunk book where at some
time in the near future, the Communist Chinese have basically
made all Western intellectual property free and openly available
to the world, making the Western system, um, _collapse_.
And if you read about Microsoft and Linux in China, well, it's
interesting !
