yup! that was in the hearings. the senator asked the music
industry suit, "If I buy the CD to play at home then that means
I can also play the same tunes in my car, yeah?", and the music
suit said "Um, well..." and the senator said "It means YES I CAN".
But this kind of thing (buy it once, play it in different formats)
is precisely what all these fuckhead copyright protection schemes
(like SDMI) are trying to prevent.
