Oops, I better change the web page! I didn't know FhG used IS, but
I guess I only checked 128kbs.
Does anyone do stereo encoding at 80kbs or less? I think the MPEG2
users (24kbs, streaming) are mostly interested in mono?
Speaking of MPEG2, I found that l3psy.c has all the code to do
psycho acoustics for MPEG2. You just have to remove one if statement
to enable it. However, using psycho acoustics for MPEG2 revealed another
problem: The outer_loop procedure sometimes produces a quantization
that takes more bytes to encode then allowed, causing LAME to crash.
