Interesting observarion. I just tested this on a 1100 frame sample
and got:
lame -v -V 0: 724k
lame -v -V 0 -m f: 679K
lame -v -V 0 -m s: 658K
So it is a little better when true mid/side masking thresholds are
also used (-m f mode). This is the next feature I want to add to LAME
- compute mid/side in addition to left/right thresholds for jstereo
mode.
