I think the resampling should be part of LAME, as it is critical for LAME
to be able to produce good low-bitrate mp3s.
The fact that LAME can be compiled into a library makes it less critical
that other things (like ripping) be included. There is performance win for
having ripping and encoding in the same program (it avoids passing large
amounts of data through pipes). This is why I plan to allow LAME to
optionally be compiled into Grip (as soon as I get some time...)
