Woke up this morning with a few questions...
When comparing different quantizations, does LAME (explicitly or implicitly)
weight audible noise (noise above threshold) according to the
"psychoacoustic importance" of the individual scalefactor bands? Are there
any empirical figures available for the "annoyance level" of noise in
different bands? What about special cases of noise such as filtering? Can
annoyance be masked by greater annoyance in another band?
