naw, reripping EVERYTHING. =(  so far i've only gotten through like 20gb worth (been lazy) but i think i'm going to have to bring up yet a third mp3 server... either that or start saving up for a "real" one, like a 120+gb lvd array. currently these 35 gb raid's i'm setting up just don't hold enough. =(  and yeah i need scsi cuz i pull this stuff from everywhere actively (but legitimately... long story). i like music a lot, heh. just waiting for the new house so i can setup all the mp3 terminals...

sorry but don't know of any lossless conversion from cbr to vbr yet... wish i did. all it could do is strip below the current though, you couldn't increase tonal quality... but i wouldn't mind since i was rtipping everything at 256k cbr to begin with (even though I VBR at 32-320), heh.
