I hope this query is appropriate for this forum, but I am keen to get decent quality
mp3 from my audio cd's.
I have read what I can on this topic, and the 'experts' advice seems to be EAC and
LAME.
The LAME settings I have decided to settle on are the -alt preset std.
Now comes the confusion, some of the 'quality exchange groups' are demanding using
LAME 3.90.2 and mabee 3.92 but no other permutation,
but mentioned in hydrogenaudio.org, it is recommended to use 3.90.3.
But as of now LAME has gone thru many versions upto it's current 3.93
Hope this can be explained
