You would have to combine mail-in and online together. I should note that
I personally oppose Internet voting without dramatic at-home voting by
mail opportunities. For a political party endorsement it is really about
getting the best candidate and the current process is less representative
than a mail/net vote for endorsement. In the end the caucus/convention
process may be viewed as the best way to select a good candidate for a
political party, but if the notion of a "local" political party is going
to mean anything, then I think updating the process for busy people and
information age is important.
