It's been on the Senate web site since last Monday, but hey,
not everyone reads the Senate web site, so I thought I would
send this to the group:
Monday March 26, from 5 to 9 PM, the Senate Committee
on Jobs, Housing and Community Development will hold a
public hearing on several bills designed to promote affordable
housing. It's in room 123 of the Capitol (first floor, Rotunda
level, east wing). Anyone who wants to attend is welcome.
Two of the bills, sponsored by Sen. Dick Cohen (DFL-St.
Paul) were mentioned in a very good editorial in
today's Strib (see
http://www.startribune.com/viewers/qview/cgi/qview.cgi?template=opinion_a&slug=ED26
It's also a bipartisan event.... Senator Roy Terwilliger
(R-Edina) is sponsoring one of the bills, which is to do
more to promote home ownership among low and
moderate income people of color.
Don Jorovsky
New Brighton
(also Committee Administrator of said committee)
