I agree that the Newspaper of the Twin Cities dropped tha ball when they failed to report  on the Green Party endorsements for  Park Board races.   It deserves coverage because of the bigger story it represents. The attempt by the Green Party to challenge the political supremacy of the DFL in Mpls.   The Republicans  have forfeited their claim to being the DFL's loyal opposition  in Mpls. The Greens are actually putting some effort into providing voters with a political alternative. That story deserves to be covered.  If the Star Tribune requires a third party to  elect a member to the city council before they get coverage  the Tribune has failed to cover the grass-roots party building angle of the story.

I've heard it said that one always has to keep an eye on the minor league players in politics,  first they get elected dog catcher and before you know it  they're the mayor!

A case in point is look what being mayor of St. Paul has done for Norm Coleman's political
fortunes!  ;-)

Despite Evan's sensible observation (that most Minnesotans live in the
'burbs), Scott Vreeland still carries the day, at least as far as any
blanket no-minor-office-coverage policy really exists.
