That's all very well and good. I'm curious about the answer to Tim
Erickson's question though. Will the City of Minneapolis participate in
the discussion of stadium issues? And who is the point person? And why is
it a smear to hang the issue on Buck Humphrey?

Rep. Neva Walker -- 61b representative (I'm a constituent) voted for the
Twins corporate welfare bill in the state legislature. She said on Almanac
the reason she voted in favor of it in committee was so the whole
legislature could stake a stand and a vote on this issue. Personally,
considering that the legislature had problems getting its regular business
done, I don't understand why they had any business focusing on corporate
welfare for the Twins. It is also disappointing to note that while Neva
Walker is on top having the taxpayers help the Twins get a stadium, she was
nowhere to be seen when the house voted on barring the state from
negotiating domestic partner benefits with the state employee unions.
There's a high number of Gays and Lesbians in Neva's district and she got
enthusiastic support and help from Stonewall Dems. The voting records are at:

Apology:

Yesterday I made this reference in a response to a post by W Marks:

>Aw more Clinton-speak from a master at the topic. <g>

I am sorry about the Clinton reference in that post -- it was overly
sarcastic. I had gone through and edited a few items out that I thought
might be better out -- and I wish I'd caught that reference at the top of
the post. So I apologize to Wizard and to the list for comparing her to
Clinton.

Lisa McDonald AWOL from Minneapolis Issues. I was, and am still
disappointed that regular list contributor, and Mayoral Candidate Lisa
McDonald has unsubscribed from this list. I've enjoyed reading McDonald's
commentary here, and hope she will come back to the list. In alot of ways,
I'd like to hear McDonald's direct response to Basim Sabri's post on her --
in the same way RT Rybak has responded directly to this list about
questions related to whether and why he put his kids in a private school
rather than the Minneapolis Public Schools.

I'd also like to see Mayoral Candiate Mark Stenglein introduce himself via
Minneapolis Issues. It would be interesting to hear him address directly,
the donations that David Brauer criticized.

And ofcourse, I'd like to see Mayor SSB make an appearance here.....
