the gay pride parade and festival was joyous and flamboyant, as always. you
gotta appreciate the sense of community, diversity, acceptance, and
theatrics. and speaking of theatrics, ssb showed spirit, looking pretty in
pink ballgown, parasol and boa. ...now for that magic wand.... and lisa,
leading on her scooter, showed moxie having her supporters pushing target
shopping carts -for those who understood the reference. the rest of the
politicos took the more traditional route of waving and palm pressing.
anyone see stenglein, or did i miss something again? on my end of the
parade route, the biggest cheers went for wellstone, striking nurses (who
seemed mighty grateful for the support), and two patrolling female bicycle
officers (!) what did others note?
it's a tribute that the parade allows a place at the table for all who feel
oppressed or with limited voice.
and thanks to the strib, who in today's edition, allowed four sentences of
coverage on an event which they estimate drew over 200,000 people.
