I remember Malik as blessed relief when driving the 18 bus
up or down the mall. The 18 is a real bear of a line because
there are so many people. The Nicollet Mall is no joke for
a bus driver either. But I found that I looked forward to
the 8th St. stop because I would begin to hear him at that
point. I would sometimes try to dawdle at that point, just
to suck up a little more before continuing on.
