Well, I hope I can get to the Issues Forum party tonight before you all
quit talking about this morning's City Council meeting. I bet you all are
just frothing at the mouth waiting for tonight and hear everyone's opinion
on why what happened happened. It seems a lot of assumptions were going
down about counting Natalie Johnson-Lee's vote. As I have found so many
times in this political game a lack of communication was going on
someplace, somewhere. And on the flip side is that a deal went down
somewhere and we all now get to watch and see what the deal was.
And the most devastating pawn in the whole game was Lisa Goodman who is a
brilliant, articulate and hard working Councilmember. Maybe she worked too
hard this last month or so and rubbed some people the wrong way - who knows
- but it will be a loss none-the-less.
And Zerby's guts to nominate himself and win on a substitute motion was
awesome! not that I am a Paul fan, but it was an astute political maneuver,
some would say.
Well folks, I think that if this morning is a reflection of what's going to
come this next year we are in for that wild ride everyone has been talking
about - will be fun to analyze the situation a year from now and see what
they have accomplished after almost self-destructing in the first hour of
work on the job.

I hope the upcoming Park Board Swearing In tonight is tamer than this
morning's get together. Hope to see you later tonight.

Annie Young
East Phillips
citywide Park Board Commissioner
