>Many people who live around Lake and Nicollet are >"car-free" (as a list-member once put it.) As such, >they are limited in their ability to shop around for >the best prices. It's been my experience that city >businesses already capitalize on this big-time. >(Personally, I often do my shopping in the suburbs, >because the larger stores, better selection, and >cheaper products make it well worth my time.) This is a major problem. I do go to Target, but I go to the suburbs to go to Best Buy and other computer/office stores. There is an Office Max on Nicollet and Lake -- but it has a very small selection. I was very disappointed when the Best Buy in Uptown closed.
