Pamela Taylor Says:

"The method I am talking about is used in the
Downtown Interdistrict School."

The method Pamela is talking about is the current
schoolroom experimental flavor of the month.

Just what in the heck are "Multiple Intelligences"?

Well they are what we used to call talents.

Howard Gardener, a Harvard Professor, developed the
"Theory of Multiple Intelligences" which says, in
effect, that IQ cannot be measured as an absolute
figure. According to Gardener, IQ is not a single
fixed entity, which can be measured by a pencil and
paper test.

He initially provided seven Intelligences:

Linguistic Intelligence

Logical-Mathematical Intelligence

Visual-Spatial Intelligence

Musical Intelligence

Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence

Interpersonal (Social) Intelligence

Intrapersonal Intelligence

And in 1996, (no doubt after a visit from shadowy
E.L.F. operatives) he added:

Naturalist Intelligence (I kid you not)

Gardener's theories are really nothing new, but the
implimentation of them is. The schools have begun to
use the idea of multiple intelligence to redefine the
criteria for gifted and talented as well as struggling
students.

IMO, M.I.'s foothold in the public schools can be
summed up as "intellectual relativism", everyone is a
genius, we're just not sure at what yet.

And of course the anti-western civilization crowd has
embrassed the idea as well.

> IMHO lots of other countries and cultures believe
> this. It is here in America, who took their culture
> and history (and got this country built on the backs
> of slaves) from other cultures that believes it is
> above doing such a thing.
> This is America, land of great cover-ups and
> scandals.

> I don't mean to offend, but some folks have a memory
> of school being so great because they are white.

OkeeDokeee.

By the way, as one might imagine M.I. has spawned a
thriving new field for out of work "OBE" consultants.
In light of the current tight fiscal climate, a quick
check into how much MPS spends on multiple
intelligence experimentation may provide surprises.

Saint Paul schools have been funding Gardener alcolyte
June Maker to the tune of $100,000.00.

Finally, Pamela says:

"..we need to accept the FACT that we need to embrace
a different reality than 20 and 30 years ago. It is
called progress."

Change is indeed inevitable, but 2+2 still = 4,
Newton, Einstein, Tesla, Bohr and a host of other dead
white guy's have not been refuted and phonics still
works.
