Several neighborhoods I work in have done neighborhood
identification signage projects. The purpose is to
identify the neighborhood boundaries or gateways.

The role of the neighborhood association(which in most
cases is a private non-profit corporation) was to
design the signs and have them made using their NRP
funds. Public works was responsible for installing
them and I don't believe they charged that expense
back to a neighborhood. (I could be wrong, but I don't
think so)

I can't honestly recall that any of them asked to have
or do have any identification on these signs regarding
the neighborhood association itself.

The outcome of the legal ruling on this should be
interesting. Keep us posted.
