While I REALLY like the product, and would love to buy a DQ in Loring Park, I totally agree that the last thing we need is some kind of commercial chain look/feel/image on the shores of our beloved lakes. DQ is a local company and one I would think/hope would be very receptive to working with the community to sell their product while keeping the environment we all treasure intact. Annie, can you give us more detail about this proposal? Just what does DQ expect/require as regards sinage etal.? I do remember that the operation they had at the Minnesota Zoo was really tacky and became an eyesore but havn't been out there in years. Also, would they replace the Blue Bell carts? Totally agree with other comments that we need to be very sensitive to our past and what we love about our parks, while trying to provide a product that might make a lot of sense to sell and that people want.
