Vicky, rumors are that you pray to the Great God Baal and sacrifice the blood of mice found on your properties... Seriously, though...you're on the mark about the Strib following up on the Cherryhomes piece. They do get scooped every now and then and if so they need time to catch up, but it was the talk of City Hall when I was there on Thursday and I'm surprised we haven't at least seen a mention. Maybe there's more to the story than what TV reported? (Hard to believe, I know...) However, don't weaken your case by throwing out "rumor" you can't stand behind. As Annie noted, there's a regular Feb. trip that a lot of political women take - I think former Minneapolis Rep. Dee Long and Brighton's Peggy Lucas are a regular part of that crew (for those of you who don't know, Lucas and Brustad work for Brighton Development, which built a lot of city-subsidized housing during the SSB regime, and before, and probably will again. Lucas was also appointed to the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission during the SSB/Cherryhomes regime.) Lucas has been a supporter of SSB and Campbell and Cherryhomes - it's right there on campaign finance records and nobody has tried to hide it. Is it wrong? I certainly enjoyed bringing it to the public's attention during the Target Center bailout, but that's for readers to decide based upon Brighton's individual projects and your feeling about city subsidy and friendships between politicians and political beneficiaries. If the facts are compelling, you shouldn't need rumor. David Brauer King Field - Ward 10 _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
