I need a change of subject from the police--

It has appeared for some time that there is a growing trend by retail sites which has
increased the use of plastic bags from the long time favorite - paper. The paper
ones are recyclable but plastic is not at this time. Since I don't have a dog, I
don't have much use for the many small bags I seem to collect--one comes every day
with my Star Tribune. I've tried giving them to my poop-scooping neighbors but even
they have enough bags.

I see an ever increasing supply of items made from recycled plastic--furniture,
building supplies, assorted household items. I'll admit I'm not an expert but it
seems that there should be enough demand for plastic to justify adding them to our
acceptable recycling list in Minneapolis. Does anyone know a way to achieve this or
a good argument against it? I'm loathe to throw them into pile that won't decompose
or an incinerator that will.
