List Members,

Sometimes simply having credentials are not enough
either. I am not putting anyone down, (so hold off
the reprimand please, simply stating MHO) but I ask
people to look deeply at what lies beneath ones
credentials and public persona. What concrete things
have people contributed to agenda's as individuals,
not collectively? In this day and age I am not for
folks riding in on the coattails of other people nor
other things. To me, the true measure of a person
comes from what they do when no one is looking. Its
easy to get lost in the crowd and blend in.

Also, look past longevity. Sometimes, all that comes
of longevity is a status quo being maintained for a
long period of time. That is not what is needed in
the school system. And I am not saying endorse folks
because they are minorities, I am saying we need fresh
blood. Desperately.

I do not believe the endorsement process is needed for
this race. People need to ask more questions on their
own instead of depending on the party process to tell
them who is the best candidate. We tell our children
to ask plenty questions so they can make informed
decisions for themselves. Ought we not to do the
same?

And yes, as someone pointed out, campaigns do cost, so
folks look to this process as one way to receive
funds. But this process leads to an even greater cost
down the road. We elect the same folks over and over,
elect folks based on credentials without looking
deeper, at a cost to our children's future. There
must be a better way.

I too, agree with Nikki, Alan, Matthea, Joe and Erik.
And have no doubt that countless other as yet unspoken
voices are in sync with ours. So, please, go to the
polls in the fall and vote for candidates, not party
affiliations.
