Greetings one and all,

It was another successful ride for Critical Mass. The ride meandered
through downtown, Dinkytown, threatened to go to St. Paul and eventually
managed to wind to Uptown and back to downtown (again).

I'm not good at estimations, but my best guess is 150-200 riders (no
arrests).

The mayor was with us at the beginning of the ride, but dropped out afer
about a mile. I'm speculating, but I believe he left soon after we crossed
the Hennepin Ave bridge when some riders chose to ride against on-coming
traffic. Personally, I would prefer the Mass wouldn't do that, but there
are differences of opinion. If that truly is when the mayor left I can
understand his conundrum (with the Police tailing us the whole way trying to
restrain the mass from travelling into on-coming lanes).

Nonetheless, I appreiciate the mayor making an appearance. He was the first
to donate money towards the cause of "free bikes for kids" (donations to be
passed along to the Yellow Bike Coalition).

Overall, the ride was uneventful - stayed (usually) in the correct lanes of
traffic , and only caused slight delays to those choosing to burn fossil
fuels.
