I would say don't name this road after anybody! Just name it the same as whatever street it connects too, just like the rest of the streets in the city. If that means it has a 'dull' name like "20th Ave N" or whatever, fine!
We should try to kill off this idea of naming streets to "honor" someone -- let 'em put plaques or statues in city hall, or the new library, or wherever to do this. But don't mess up our street naming scheme here in Minneapolis. We have a generally very clear pattern: numbered east-west streets, alphabetically named north-south avenues. It works well. Don't fiddle with it! (Do you want us to be like St. Paul?) Remember the purpose of street names, after all -- it's to make it possible for people (fire trucks, visitors, mail carriers, pizza delivery drivers, etc.) to find your house. Please don't put spin over substance!
