Wizard - Whittier and Phillips were deeply affected by 35W as well. It makes me sick to think of all the beautiful victorian houses that were ripped out to pave paradise. Both of these neighborhoods have been the cities "dumping ground" for everything from soup to nuts that wasn't deemed appropriate for other more affluent and stable neighborhoods.
The people in Whittier and West Phillips consider the 35W project another "dump". They needed to expand 35W and thought they were throwing Whittier a "bone" by giving us our very own exit ramp. I will agree that the birth of this now bohemoth project was people around here and not at the state. It certainly is a great example of "be careful what you wish for". MDOT then took that as an opening to jam another lane on 35W. So while your gnawing on the good people of King Field because they haven't taken their fair share of beatings, remember your neighbors to the north have been beat on plenty in the past and we don't like the project either. Pitting Lyndale and Central against Whittier, Phillips and King Field isn't going to solve a thing.
