I just can't believe that people don't seem to have thought this through very thoroughly. Don't people realize there there a distinct and credible possibility of a nuclear device being detonated in a U.S. city in the next ten years? If this event occurred it might take the lives of more than a million people and change our nation forever. Now to the local relevance. Does anyone on a local level know whether Iraq has obtained or produced nuclear weapons? How many of you would object to invading Iraq if you knew with say 90% certainty that Iraq intended to provide a nuclear warhead to terrorists who wanted to smuggle it into the U.S? How do you know that this isn't the case? How does the city council know? How does the mayor know? How can the city government set international policy when they lack the necessary intelligence? No pun intended.
