What I find curious about this entire issue is that we KNOW that North Korea has nuclear weapons. North Korea has been declared a member of the axis of evil just as Iraq has, but, I don't hear folks screaming about an invasion of North Korea. The danger there is much more imminent than the could he/could he not, might he/might he not logic flying about concerning Saddam Hussein.

France has nuclear weapons, China has nuclear weapons, Great Britain has 'em, Russia and its break-away Republics have them, India and Pakistan have them, and I'm sure Australia could probably get them.

So why aren't we invading those nations? Any one of them could lose a nuclear weapon or have one stolen and kablow, there goes D.C. So, we should just invade 'em all...declare the United Grand Empire of America.

Back to reality. I am not interested in resources that should be directed to bolstering the faltering economy of the City of Minneapolis being re-directed to a Senior Bush-type re-election strategy. We currently shell out nearly 3/4 of a trillion dollars on our military. That's a lot of money that could be used locally. We currently import more than half of our oil. We could re-direct the portion of the military budget that is being used to support the possible war in Iraq to develop renewable energy sources at the local level. And this is why this entire war issue is definately local.

Mr. Mayor tell the President and the members of Congress that we have pressing issues right here in OUR city that need money and attention, and we simply don't have the money or resources to support his flights of fancy.
