I would be happy to argue whether roundabouts or ellipse abouts are a
needed, useful or desirable addition to my neighborhood but Tom Johnson,
the Project Manager of the 35W Access Project has already stated his
doubts about whether the ellipse-about is still in the plans.

WM: I called Tom Johnson at 4:58 p.m. today. He stated that he never said anything even remotely like what you have here, Mr. Avidor. He did say, however, that "the elipse about is central to the design and we intend to build it."

Tom Johnson himself needs to get directly on this list and clear up this
point directly.
WM: Bear bating is a nasty sport. Johnson is not going to spend any time on this list. He doesn't have it to spend.

Otherwise Ken Avidor's account is pretty compelling -- and if Avidor's
account is correct, Johnson was lying to me about the round abouts when I
had breakfast with him about a month ago.
WM: The entire document passed by the Access Committee is available at www.phillipspartnership.org In that document you will find the elipse about. What Avidor probably heard was that there has been no decision about whether or not there needs to be a pedestrian crossing light at 38th and the elipse.
The stenographer at the three November meetings has tallied and turned in the recorded comments of people who attended. The questionaires people filled out have been tallied. Those attending voted 75% to build, 25% not to build.
It's interesting to me that Avidor's account is "compelling" when Avidor has shown a penchant for ignoring information he has access to and refused to meet with Johnson. Yet Johnson is accused of possibly "lying."
