Linda Mann writes, of Dyna's post:

> Sour Grapes DFL style. Get use to it (the Green Party sure is).

Linda, with all due respect, this sentiment is ONE DFLer's. Vanessa Freeman,
another DFLer who staunchly supported Olin Moore, sent a respectful, if
wary, note to the list after Don Samuels' election.

I would humbly submit that DFLers are not alone in the Sour Grapes mode
after they don't win at the ballot box - one of the dysfunctions of politics
is that partisans of ALL stripes have a hard time looking in the mirror.

However, I've always believed that among most of the neighborhood volunteers
who do the heavy lifting, partisanship is OVERRATED. Yes, it's how many of
us organize ourselves to get folks elected, but once the election is over,
we work together.

So I'm going to be happy that all those people of both campaigns who worked
hard in the 3rd, appreciate the efforts of Greens and Republicans who stayed
involved, and admire (until at least until the first actual council vote!)
the majesty of democracy.

For those disturbed by the ticky-tack nature of list conversation lately, I
am too - and I encourage those who dislike it to start discussions about
REAL issues where people really discuss and HEAR each other's points of
views and not consign each other to small, partisan boxes. That advice goes
for me, too.
