As someone who lived in Waite Park and Camden and now lives in Blaine, I can
speak on this from my perspective.

I love where I live. It's a great neighborhood with great neighbors, good
schools and, yes, we have a .5 acre lot. My bride loves to tinker in the
yard and she has lots of room to try different things. We didn't leave to
find anything other than a bigger house. My wife and I owned a 1 bedroom, 1
bath house in Camden, right across the street from Henry High School. We
had two nephews come to live with us. We needed more space. While my
father and my wife's father both grew up with thirteen kids in two bedroom
houses, I prefer not to have to cram us all into a small house. I would
have loved to find a house that would have provided for us, as I'm still a
NE'er in my heart, you know. But the housing was more... appropriate for us
in Blaine - more house for the money, with the big yard to boot.

Don't like the commute, but I don't expect the state to build more roads to
facilitate a quicker commute for me. Unlike may elected officials, I
believe in personal responsibility, and my commute is my responsibility.

As for when we lived in Waite Park and Camden - great neighborhoods with
great neighbors. When I went to school (Lowry, NE Jr. High, and Edison), I
thought they were great. Well, except for Jr. High. Who liked Jr. High?

I am quite curious if my neighbors that
moved really found what they thought they would find by moving since most
admitted the neighborhood was nice and they regretted moving but felt a
'need' to do so for the kids.
TEMPORARY REMINDER:
1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait.
2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject
(Mpls-specific, of course.)
